The Thunder Perfect Mind is the name of a trilogy that has been an on and off project for over fifteen years, the seeds of which were in my head since 2010-ish. It evolved into a romantic Neon Genesis Evangelion with heavy Gnostic themes–minus the “giant robots.”
It takes place in a far-off future utopia (which seems like a dream at this point) in which every problem (economic, environmental, social, political) is solved–save one. It’s been over a century since initial alien contact (the Grigori) and now another group of aliens (the Archons) threaten the peace and stability of this futuristic utopia. Only pairs of divine chosen humans, called Syzygies can defeat them. One Syzygy, Alice and Amadeus, collectively known as The Fifth Parent, are the main characters who are recruited by the Grigori under mysterious circumstances.
